State Government Signs with US Dataport

-- As
a step to boost the sector of Information Technolog,Kerala
State Government, signed an Memmorandum of Association
with US Dataport, world Leaders in Information Technology
infrastructure development company from silicon
Valley, to set up a world class Carrier Neutral
Facility, inclusive of a Disaster Recovery Facility
and other infrastructure at the Kinfra Information
Technology Park, Kakanad, Cochin, Ernakulam District.
Lewis E.Shadle,Senior Vice president (Business Development)of
US Dataport and Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary Information
Technology of Kerala State signed the Memmorandum
of Associationo in the presence P K Kunhalikutty,Minister
for Industries and Information Technology.
Addressing
the media person after the event,Industries Minister,
stated that the facility was being created for the
first time in the country. This will enhance Kochi's
position as the country's prime communication hub,he
hoped.
US
Dataport will also undertake modular development
of a world class IT and ITES facility at Kochi.
The infrastructure developed by US Dataport will
become operational in a year and is expected to
go a long way in helping IT and ITES companies to
have high quality networking, computing and storage
facilities.
Apart
fromthe ensuring redundant connectivity and brokering
multiple service providers, the facility will have
a data centre which would act as back up in the
event of crisis situation, Information Technology
Secretary Aruna Sundararajan said.
